Life Experience (How The Hell Did That Happen?)

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

As i’ve started to write again, and think about things that are going on around me, as well as looking for subjects and personal experiences to write about, i’ve realised something that was quite unexpected.

The one big motto of most writers seems to be, universally, “Write about the things you know.”  Obviously the more interesting, unique and/or experience filled lives that people lead, the more they have to write about.

  • The assumption

I never really see myself as grown up, or experienced or having led a fulfilling life.  Part of the reason for that is because of my ex, who certainly liked to portray an image of me that was immature, wasn’t experienced enough in life to understand some of how it worked (A nice little psychological trick to justify wrongs and make it sound like the normal way of life).  Read More »

Eye Contact (The Update)

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

When i went to my class last night, I was already planning to push myself a little bit.  I wanted to try and experiment with eye contact.  I didn’t really know how, or when i’d go about it, or even who with, but i just knew i wanted to challenge it.

A bit of everything!

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

prices in the little tuck shop in the airport go up really high, someone i’m with tries to buy a packet of biscuits only to find out the price is over £9, i’m outraged. The shop keeper explains it’s how things work, people are stuck in the airport, the market is forced upon them. Read More »

I had to make my way through a long series of rooms, corridors and lifts, in what seems to be a hospital/college.
people in the class have started disappearing, not sure why or how

Out with the prozac and in with bedtime snacks

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Source: Out with the prozac and in with bedtime snacks.

Instead of just popping ‘happy pills’ such as Prozac to beat the blues, Plant and her co-author, Janet Stephenson, advise sufferers to take steps such as avoiding dairy products, sending fewer text messages, eating porridge at night and playing card games. They say all their tips are based on hard scientific evidence gathered from studies around the world.

Having been offered some ‘happy pills’ not so long ago (by a doctor, not in a jiffy bag by some spotty teenager), i feel somewhat qualified on this subject, not that it matters, i can be quite opinionated even on things i have no understanding of, it’s a frame of mind. :D
