Over the past few weeks, I’ve been going through a bit of a — Actually i’m not sure what it is. I’ve not been depressed, or even sad, just spending too much time thinking about things and prone to see the negative.
So to combat this, I’ve been watching a lot of comedy. Chicken soup for the soul.
My comedic tastes are quite brutal. I do like a lot of innocent comedians and their acts: like Ken Dodd, Ronnie Corbett, etc, but i’m really at home with the most disgusting and brutal comedians. Read More »

Source: Kimbo defeated by last minute stand-in for Ken Shamrock.
A 28-year-old from Fort Myers, Fla., Petruzelli accepted the matchup after Slice’s scheduled opponent, Ken Shamrock, was cut over his left eye during a light workout and medically disqualified some time before the fight. The notice was outrageously short for Petruzelli, and the win over Slice that resulted was outrageously huge.
With vigorous claims of a “fix” being in, for Shamrock to throw the fight and take a dive, to push Kimbo into legitimacy, being banded around MMA circles for the last week or so, then the timely pull-out of Shamrock only an hour before the fight was due to take place, due to a cut he managed to pick up in a “light work out”, many fans were getting ready to cry foul, myself included. It’s time to RUMBLEEEEEEEEEEEEE. UFC weekend is upon us once more!
Highlights:
UFC 88 sees the return of Tim Boetsch, who promises to offer anyone a decent fight, with some nice crisp and powerful striking, as well as killer throws.
We also get to see Matt Hamill take on Rich Franklin, pitting fierce, retard-strength based wrestling and inexperience against the very experienced and crisp, accurate and brutal striking of the ex Middleweight champion Franklin. Whatever happens in this fight, it should be exciting! Read More »

Source: Sherdog.com - Couture Exclusive
Faced with the potential of spending the remaining years of his competitive career fighting in a courtroom instead of a cage, Randy Couture (Pictures) was left with one decision.
The 45-year-old heavyweight champion finalized an agreement Tuesday to return to the UFC and defend his title.
The rumours were right. Not only has Randy returned to the UFC, where his MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) career began all those years ago, but he’ll find himself pitted against the genetic freak that is Brock Lesnar. Read More »

The biography of UFC hall of famer, Randy “The Natural” Couture.
I picked this book up from Amazon a few weeks ago, opting to buy the hardback rather than wait for the paperback version, something i very rarely do, but seeing as it was the legend himself, Randy Couture, i thought what the hell.
I’d heard a few comments on the book, the usual marketing, from Loretta Hunt, Randy himself, etc, but was surprised to find that the book did in fact read very naturally and came across in a style that very much echoed Randy himself.
The book is very well written and reads very easily, too easily if you should be doing other things, as i found myself drawn into it and reaching the final page within only 2 days. I was a bit dismayed by some of the content, namely Randy’s extra marital affairs, without going into detail. But i guess that’s what biographies are for, the good and the bad.
It was very interesting to get inside the Legend’s mind regarding his past fights, his career in general and even some of his earlier life experiences. As my first mma related book, i found myself wanting to read more. It’s a definite must have for any mma fan, whether you’ve fought yourself or not (i haven’t).
My rating: 4.5 stars

Source: Brock Vs. Herring
The pressure on Herring comes from within. A UFC title run hasn’t materialized for the veteran contender, and another loss on his resume, to a MMA rookie no less, would be nothing short of disastrous.
Brock “The Next Big Thing” Lesnar, world class amateur wrestler, tremendous athlete, strong as a bull, lightning fast, explosive, huge, but very, very green.

Tito Ortiz is set to become the highest paid MMA fighter in history when a “ground-breaking” deal between the free-agent fighter and Affliction is announced as early as Wednesday during a press conference for Affliction’s next card, which will be held Oct. 11 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Love him or hate him, Tito Ortiz is certainly one of the biggest names in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, he had a phenomenal run as Light Heavyweight champion, where no-one else could touch him, until that is, he faced the legend that is Randy Couture and subsequently Chuck Lidell.
